Green tea has lots of health benefits. However, not all thoughts about green tea are really true. Here are some of common misconceptions about green tea.

Green tea versus black tea.
Some claims that green tea offers more health benefits than black tea. Can you consider it a fact or a myth? Actually, both have their own sets of benefits. No one really knows which of the two is healthier.  More studies are needed to be done first.

Green tea does not have caffeine.
This is not true. Green teas have caffeine; however, the levels may be lessened depending on the process applied. Drinkers of this tea should not be worried because the tea also contains antioxidants that will fight the damaging impact of caffeine.

Green tea can lose weight immediately.
Yes, green tea can lose weight but not quickly. The process is gradual and of course if you don’t consume sufficient amount of tea, you will never really shed fats.

Green tea can be consumed as long as you want.
No, this is really incorrect. Too much of something is not good. If you consume a lot of green tea, you are harming yourself. Keep it moderate because if not, you can get side effects such as caffeine intolerance and nutrition overdose.

Green tea can dehydrate you.
This has been proven by a UK study wrong. According to the results of the study, drinking green tea is much better than water because it substitutes fluids.

Green tea originates from various plants.
Black tea, white tea, and green teas come from the herb Camellia sinensis. The reason why they are called differently is because of the processes being involved in the production.
