The Runaways -- Born to be Wild

Okay, I know it's been quite a while since I haven't been able to update my blog. Sorry for that folks I was just a bit busy. As of now I will be sharing you my thoughts about the movie "The Runaways." The movie is not that new, in fact this was shown last year (2010). This film stars Dakota Fanning as Cherie Currie and Kristen Stewart as Joan Jett. It is not the first time that these two talented actress share the silver screen -- both have shown their prowess at the fantasy romance film "Twilight Saga." K-Stew plays as the main protagonist Bella while Fanning portrays the villainess Jane of the Volturi.

For those who do not know, the title of the film was based on the name of the all-female rock and roll band "The Runaways" in the 1970s. This band was said to be an opener to the wave of girl rock bands around the world.  Here is a rundown on the members of the band:

The Runaways

Cherie Currie - lead vocals
Joan Jett - rhythm guitar/vocals
Sandy West - drums
Lita Ford - lead guitar
Jackie Fox - bass guitar

The film revolves around the life of Cherie Currie, who was 16 at that time. It explores how Currie's life changed when she joined the band. The film also exhibits the addiction of the underage lead singer on drugs and alcohol. Life that time was really hard if you are on a rock band. Before the commencement of their performance, band members are taking drugs. I don't know why they do that all the time. It is really not a good example. Fanning and Stewart were good in portraying their roles. It was kind of awkward though to see the two kiss. Whew. But the film is not that x-rated. I just can't believe Fanning has grown through these years. I remember her playing in films Push and Uptown Girls. She was really talented.

Moral Lessons

Well. Don't forget your family despite the success or popularity. Don't use drugs if you don't want to ruin your life. Maybe you can get indescribable feelings when you take some but it just last for a couple of minute. If you want to take this kind of substance just to forget your problems or boost your confidence, you are definitely on the wrong track. Boozing is not always right. Limit your consumption of alcohol. Moreover, do not forget to reconnect with your friends; despite the troubles they have faced, Cherie and Joan were still able to rekindle their friendship in the end.
